Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data Ophors (ophors.com) collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read, not skimmed past, so it is short.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Aucuparia Holdings Ltd, a company registered in Cyprus under company number HE 470831, with its registered office at Limassol, Cyprus. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@ophors.com.
What we collect and why
Server and CDN logs
The site is a set of static files served through AWS Amplify Hosting and Amazon CloudFront. Amazon records standard access logs for each request: your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string and the referring page. We use these to keep the site running, spot abuse and see which pages are read. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website. Logs are kept for no longer than 90 days.
Contact form
If you use the form on the contact page, the name, email address and message you type are sent to Web3Forms, a form-handling service, which forwards them to our inbox at hello@ophors.com. Web3Forms does not store submissions after delivery. We keep your message for as long as it takes to deal with it, and for up to 12 months afterwards in case of a follow-up. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in replying to you, and where you ask a question, the steps needed to answer it.
If you email us directly, we hold the email in our mail system (Google Workspace) for the same period as above.
Analytics
We do not currently run any analytics script on this site. If that changes, this section and the cookie policy will be updated before the script goes live.
Cookies and advertising
At present the site sets no first-party cookies. The site does not yet carry advertising.
We intend to apply to serve ads through Google AdSense. If and when that happens:
- Google, as a third-party vendor, will use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. The main one is the DoubleClick cookie.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google's Ads Settings page, or opt out of a range of advertising vendors at once at youronlinechoices.com.
- Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Visitors in the UK, the EEA and Switzerland will be shown a consent request before any advertising cookie is set, using Google's certified consent management tool.
The cookie policy explains how to control cookies in your browser.
Who we share data with
Amazon Web Services (hosting and logs), Web3Forms (contact form delivery) and Google (email, and advertising if enabled). Each acts as a processor under a written agreement or its published terms. Some of these providers process data in the United States; transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and for UK readers on the UK extension to that framework. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep data
- Access logs: up to 90 days.
- Contact form messages and emails: until resolved, then up to 12 months.
- Advertising cookies (if enabled): controlled by Google; typically 13 months or less.
Your rights
Under the EU GDPR, which applies to us as a controller established in Cyprus, and the UK GDPR, which applies because this site is written for readers in the UK, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict how we process it;
- receive a copy in a portable format;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests; and
- withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis.
To exercise any of these, email hello@ophors.com. We will respond within one month. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to our lead supervisory authority, the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection (Cyprus). Readers in the UK can instead complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by phone on 0303 123 1113, and readers elsewhere in the EU to their national data protection authority.
California residents
If you live in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to ask for it to be deleted, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the advertising cookies described above once they are in use, which you can decline through the consent prompt or the opt-out links. To make a request, email hello@ophors.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Children
This site is written for adults running a home. It is not directed at anyone under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the effective date at the top. Material changes, such as advertising going live or an analytics tool being added, will be reflected here before they take effect.
